Q-banded Mink chromosomes, set up according to the system here presented under R-bands.
The DAPI bands are very close to the q-bands, see below where also is shown
the telomer bands

The chromosomes 2 to 5 and number 7 have telomere sequences in the centromere region.
the chromosomes number 12 and 13 have a very strong telomere band at the p-arm.
The in situ hybridization with the telomere probe has been done by Terje Raudsepp.
The localization by in situ hybridization
of the 5S-rRNA in mink. The main 5S-rRNA locus is located on chromosome 2q1.3, two silver grains can be seen in that posision.
More than 50 metaphases has been studied. And the results were that more than half of the entire number of grains are located on chromosome 2q1.3.
